Residents ejected and houses locked by alleged SWAT Officers.

In Santeo, a community in the Kpone Katamanso Municipality of the Greater Accra Region; residents have been ejected from their homes and their houses locked by alleged SWAT Officers in the early hours of today; 20th April, 2022.

This is because one private investor named Mr. Ostere is claiming ownership of about 30 acres of land. Mr. Ostere claims the land was sold to him by the Chief of Santeo.

According to the Assembly member (Mr. Samuel Abbrey), the Chief was contacted and he has denied the allegations leveled against him for selling the said land to Mr. Ostere.

In the early hours of wednesday, SWAT Officers from the Ghana Police Service were spotted ejecting residents from their homes and locking their houses. When they were confronted by the Assembly Man, they told him they were acting on a court order. The Assembly Man went further to call in the National Police who in turn asked them to reopen the houses but the SWAT Officers bolted with the keys.

Military men are currently patrolling the community to ensure that residents do not return to their homes.
